A focused workspace for starting one project.
Personal project memory for solo builders.
More room for serious solo work and consulting streams.
More room for larger project work and AI workflows.
* Memory labels explained in FAQ. Notebook pages can be saved and added to memory on every plan, within the selected plan limits. AI credits are estimated before a run; final credits use the actual amount of AI text processed. Supported AI actions can include chat replies, source imports, and manual memory work. Studio and Max background runs use a separate background memory cap.

FAQ
Short answers for plan limits, AI credits, add-ons, source and chat memory, downgrade behavior, clean project-memory export, and account data export.
Each plan includes project capacity, source capacity, source file limits, monthly AI credits, and any included background memory cap.
Every plan can save notebook pages and use Add to memory, within its project, source, file-size, and credit limits.
Free is for a narrow trial workspace. Pro, Studio, and Max add more projects, more sources, larger imports, paid model access, and higher monthly AI credit limits.
Pro adds auto-memory when sources are imported, but it does not include scheduled background memory runs or batch consolidation.
Studio and Max add scheduled background memory runs and batch consolidation, controlled by a separate background memory cap.
Max also includes clean project-memory export for external AI-session handoff.
Basic Memory captures simple source-backed memory using structured rules. It is best for trying Tsumu on a small workspace.
AI Memory uses AI to identify useful memory, decisions, follow-ups, and review items from imported sources and eligible chats. On Pro, it can run when sources are imported, without scheduled background cleanup.
Active Memory includes AI Memory, scheduled background memory runs, background chat-to-memory, batch consolidation, and topic updates as project inputs change. It is best for ongoing work with many moving parts.
Notebook pages are manual: you can save them on every plan, then choose Add to memory when a note should become project memory.
On Studio and Max, Tsumu can run scheduled background memory work when enough project source material or eligible chat context has changed.
Those runs can refresh memory, update topics, and batch-consolidate decisions, follow-ups, or review items so the project stays easier to use without a manual cleanup step.
Autonomous background work is controlled by a separate background memory cap. User-triggered imports, chats, and manual reviews still use regular monthly AI credits.
Background work should pause at the background cap instead of silently spending add-on credits.
No. Project and source limits are capacity limits.
AI credits are monthly usage limits for user-triggered AI work.
Studio and Max also include a separate background memory cap for autonomous scheduled work.
Tsumu estimates credits before an AI action starts.
For supported actions, Tsumu may reserve the estimate while the action runs so concurrent requests cannot overrun the available balance.
After it completes, final credits are calculated from the actual amount of AI text processed using Tsumu's current AI rates.
Unused reserved credits are released after the action completes, fails, or the reservation expires.
1 credit equals $0.01 of AI usage. Each AI action rounds up to at least 1 credit.
If an estimated AI action needs more credits than you have available, Tsumu blocks it before sending the AI request.
If final usage exceeds the available balance after generation starts, the action may fail before the output is saved.
Free users can upgrade. Paid users can upgrade or buy add-on credits.
No. Monthly plan credits reset each billing period.
Add-on credits are separate rollover credits and remain until used or expired.
Add-on credits are one-time prepaid credit packages for active paid subscriptions.
They are used after monthly plan credits for user-triggered AI work and currently expire one year after they are granted.
Scheduled background memory work should not silently use add-on credits; Studio and Max background runs are controlled by the separate background memory cap.
The $0.01 figure is the model-usage unit used to calculate credit spend.
Add-ons are prepaid rollover credit packages sold at $0.04 per credit. That price covers AI usage plus product, infrastructure, billing, support, and operating costs.
Start with a blank project, add one trusted source or note, then ask chat to extract decisions, follow-ups, or useful project context.
The guide walks through the first workflow and explains what the blank states mean.
Imported sources can create project memory automatically on Pro, Studio, and Max when plan limits and regular AI credits allow.
Notebook pages can be saved on every plan. They are added to memory only when you choose Add to memory and the page fits the current plan limits.
Studio and Max may later revisit imported sources through scheduled background memory runs, subject to the separate background memory cap.
Yes. Chat messages are stored as chats, and eligible AI memory features may also extract generated project memory, decisions, follow-ups, topics, or review items from chat.
User-triggered chat-to-memory review depends on the plan, project limits, regular AI credits, and provider availability. Studio and Max background chat-to-memory uses the separate background memory cap.
Account export includes stored chats and messages. It does not include Tsumu-generated project memory extracted from chats.
In memory means the source has been added to project memory.
Not in memory means the source is saved but has not been processed yet.
Paused by plan means the source stays readable, but AI memory actions are paused by the current plan limits.
Imported sources count toward the project source limit.
Workspaces organize sources inside a project. Active workspace sources are prioritized for memory inside that same project.
Tsumu does not use sources from one project to influence memory in another project.
Clean project-memory export creates a portable project brief for another AI session.
It is different from account export. Account export contains stored account and workspace data. Clean project-memory export contains Tsumu's portable project memory.
Tsumu's paid product is project memory.
Clean project-memory export is the portable form for external AI tools. It is included on Max.
Yes, on Max.
TSUMU_CONTEXT.md is part of clean project-memory export. It is not included in Free, Pro, or Studio.
Downgrades are scheduled for the next renewal. Your current paid plan and limits stay active until then.
After renewal, original data stays readable. AI memory features may pause on projects or sources above the new plan limits.
Cancellation does not delete your projects, chats, source files, or notebooks.
When paid access ends, Tsumu may pause paid-plan memory features and chat-to-memory review above the current plan limits.
Stored account and workspace data remains readable and exportable through account export.
You can start cancellation from Billing or from /cancel-subscription.
No. Account export contains stored account and workspace data.
Clean project-memory export is a separate Max feature for portable project memory.
Account export is for stored account and workspace data.
Tsumu-generated project memory is a separate product feature. Clean project-memory export is available on Max.
